There has been tremendous misinformation regarding the issue of permits the city of Tustin is requiring from Tustin Unified School District.
First of all, these permits for storm water management are an important part of a regional plan to reduce pollutants that run into our ocean and beaches.
They verify that the new storm drain system will a) prevent health and safety hazards resulting from rainwater and b) connect properly with the city's existing storm runoff system.

March 16, 2010 -- A U.S. judge says Oprah Winfrey must defend a defamation suit filed by the ex-headmistress of her girls school in South Africa.
The case is now set for trial on March 29 in Philadelphia.
Judge Eduardo Robreno refused to dismiss the suit in a decision Monday.

The National Association of School Resource Officers ( NASRO ) today announced that it has extended the entry deadline for the 2010 Wren Solutions School Resource Officer (SRO) Scholarship Award.
Nominations will now be accepted until May 1, 2010 .
The award is part of a $10,000 donation that Wren , providers of physical security solutions that create safe learning environments, pledged over a four year time period.

The company said Tuesday it will remove full-calorie, sweetened drinks from schools in more than 200 countries by 2012, marking the first such move by a major soft drink producer.

More than 20 Clay County Sheriff's Office deputies and detectives responded to the hoax "shots fired" call at 9:07a.m. School administrators locked down all the classrooms until the entire campus was checked shortly after 9:30 a.m. and the all clear was given, said Mary Justino, Sheriff's Office spokesperson.

Angelina Jolie donated $75,000 to build a primary school for girls in Tangi, Afghanistan where the education facilities were once unsuitable for girls.
The new school with eight classrooms can accommodate up to 800 girls in two shifts which is amazing for the education of women in the country.
Says a local teacher:
